About The Position

Innovative Staff Solutions has a new direct hire opportunity for a Human Resources Manager with one of our clients in the Mattoon, IL area! This is a leadership role, managing a small HR team with a top manufacturer and distributor in the Mattoon area. Here's how you will make an impact: Meet with leaders regularly to gain an understanding of their business priorities, strategies and talent Partner with leadership to design and implement organizational structures and people strategies that drive key company initiatives while increasing business performance and productivity Advise and assist business partners with ongoing talent management and succession planning strategies Provide coaching and consultation to leaders on employee relations practices necessary to maintain a positive employment relationship and promote a high level of employee engagement and commitment Assist leaders with performance management processes and development of their employees. Act as the liaison for workers compensation Partner with workers comp insurance carrier Provide employee relations and conducts investigations, as needed Serve as a strategic business partner to the plant leadership team Provide guidance and recommendations to the plant leadership team on topics such as compensation strategy, workforce planning, engagement, and talent/recruitment strategy Coach, lead and develop 1-2 direct reports Partner with other HR Managers in other plant locations to implement best practices What you will do on a daily basis: Act as the frontline employee relations support for the plant, conducting thorough investigations as needed Support the plant leadership team in strategic human capital decisions and activities Conduct training as necessary (harassment, leadership), and partner with 3rd party vendors for external training opportunities (safety) Support oversight and direction for workplace safety, leveraging any knowledge and experience with OSHA Support all workers compensation and workplace injury reporting Support all employee events (recognition, annual celebrations) as needed Change agent – communication of changes in org, policy, etc. Attend staff meetings and 1x1’s with business partners Partner with subject matter experts in Human Resources Has personal ownership for key HR metrics (recruitment, development, retention, etc.)

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of core HR competencies – Employee Relations, Compensation and Benefits, Recruiting and Retention, Talent Management and Organizational Development, Performance Management, Compliance, EHS & Risk Management, Change Management
  • Superior problem-solving abilities, solid judgment, and influencing skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of initiative and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to influence leaders at various levels in any organization
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities and workload requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced Microsoft Office suite skills
  • Proven ability to administer and report on OSHA requirements
  • Previous success serving as HR support for a mid-size manufacturing or supply chain industry a must
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related areas
  • Must have 5 plus years of HR Management experience in a manufacturing or related industry

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred
  • HR certifications is strongly preferred
