About The Position

Meritus Solutions Group (Meritus) is seeking an experienced HR Manager with a strong background in policy, discipline, unions, pay and rewards. This candidate will be an experienced HR Professional with a strategic focus, the ability to project manage multiple deliverables, a strong collaborative approach, and be insights-driven. The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of employment law, experience providing senior-level HR advice, developing and implementing policies across various HR disciplines, and possess advanced analytics and digital skills to drive service improvements and the continued delivery of the Meritus workforce strategy. This pivotal strategic position offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to service delivery and will include involvement in a wide range of strategic projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Experience in Government Contracting with McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act contracts (Davis Bacon experience is acceptable)
  • ADP Experience Required
  • Written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work remotely from time to time
  • Develop working relationships with colleagues in office and remote employees
  • Strong desk top publishing skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage recruitment, offer letters, onboarding, benefits sign up, hire process in ADP system and internally using HR New Hire Form and HR Tracker.
  • Manage changes in employee status, pay, benefits using the HR Personnel Action Form and HR Tracker and updating data in ADP.
  • Maintain ADP Benefits, which feeds to ACA in ADP. Maintain ACA information accuracy.
  • Monitoring various aspects of employee performance, specifically discipline process and formal union grievance procedures.
  • Initiating an HR Termination Form when an employee leaves employment and determine when employee needs to receive final payment, and what payouts and health care true ups are required of their final pay.
  • Calculate and track attrition ratings.
  • Managing Union communications, dealing with Union grievances, participating in Union negotiations of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Managing pay appraisal system and conducting appraisal meetings.
  • Tracking and managing all FMLA or state PFML and other special leave requests (such as military leave).
  • Manage company responses to unemployment claims.
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures comply with state and federal employment regulations.
  • Responsible for innovative policy development and strategic solutions that support Meritus to be at the forefront of HR best practices.
  • Accessing the need for supervision and management coaching/training and then designing and implementing training programs accordingly.
  • Providing flyers and communications to incumbent and prospective hires on newly awarded contracts.
  • Assist in the preparation and oversee daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting.
  • Actively engage in proposing change and continuous improvement to processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
