About The Position

Rushton, a highly respected accounting firm with deep roots in the community and multiple years of being awarded best in their community, is seeking a Human Resources Manager for its growing Administration Division. The Human Resources Manager will oversee the firm's daily HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, performance management, employee engagement, compensation administration, and professional development. This role partners with firm leadership and department managers to attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. The HR Manager will act as a trusted resource for employees and managers, ensuring consistent policy application and supporting the firm's growth and workforce needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience in recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (preferably BambooHR), Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Professional services, accounting, legal, consulting, or similar industry experience.
  • Organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the firm's recruiting and hiring processes for professional and administrative positions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, career centers, and student organizations to support internship and campus recruiting initiatives.
  • Coordinate internship programs, career fairs, and recruiting events.
  • Source, screen, and coordinate interviews for qualified candidates.
  • Oversee onboarding activities to ensure a positive new hire experience.
  • Maintain recruiting metrics and provide regular hiring updates to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and personnel files.
  • Assist with updating and administering employee handbook policies and procedures.
  • Support HR audits, reporting requirements, and record retention practices.
  • Coordinate required workplace training and compliance initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding HR policies, practices, and workplace concerns.
  • Administer performance evaluation processes and support managers in delivering constructive feedback.
  • Guide managers through employee coaching, counseling, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Assist with investigations and documentation related to employee relations matters.
  • Promote a fair, consistent, and positive work environment.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs and wellness initiatives.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment activities.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers.
  • Assist employees with benefit questions and enrollment changes.
  • Work with benefit vendors and brokers to support plan administration.
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs.
  • Support the onboarding and development of newly promoted supervisors and managers.
  • Assist department leaders with identifying employee development opportunities.
  • Maintain career development resources and progression guidelines.
  • Track training participation and professional development activities.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and market research.
  • Assist leadership with compensation reviews and salary recommendations.
  • Maintain compensation data and support annual compensation planning efforts.
  • Monitor market trends to help ensure competitive pay practices.
  • Provide compensation-related reports and analyses as requested.
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and service awards.
  • Plan employee appreciation activities, celebrations, and firm events.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives designed to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Assist with gathering employee feedback and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare HR reports related to recruiting, turnover, benefits, and employee demographics.
  • Assist leadership with staffing and workforce planning discussions.
  • Support special HR projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance employee experience and HR effectiveness.
