About The Position

The Human Resources Manager — DFW serves as the primary HR executive for PTR's DFW operation, translating enterprise HR strategy into effective local execution. This role bridges strategic HR planning with operational excellence, providing business partnership to all DFW-based functions (Operations, Sales, Logistics, Fleet, and other departments), regardless of reporting structure. The position owns employee relations, performance management, talent strategy, and culture for the location while mentoring and supporting the HR Manager for any new PTR new locations. Success requires strategic thinking, influencing ability, complex problem-solving, and the capacity to build credibility across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in senior HR leadership or strategic HRBP role and people management
  • Proven ability to serve as strategic business partner to leaders at all levels
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, Title VII, etc.)
  • Experience managing complex employee relations, investigations, and difficult organizational decisions
  • Experience with HRIS/benefits/payroll systems (HiBob, Paylocity, Greenhouse ATS, or similar)
  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence without direct authority
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; high integrity and discretion with confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, or SPHR certification
  • Experience with succession planning, talent reviews, and 9-Box assessments.
  • Experience working in a rapidly growing organization
  • Experience using HRIS and ATS platforms such as HiBob, Greenhouse, Paylocity, or similar systems

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary HR business partner and strategic advisor to all DFW leaders on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and talent decisions.
  • Coach leaders at all levels on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and leadership best practices.
  • Identify and communicate workforce trends, operational challenges, and people insights into senior HR leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Participate in strategic HR planning for DFW, including staffing strategy, organizational design, succession planning, and workforce planning decisions.
  • Build visible HR presence and credibility across all organizational levels through accessible, proactive engagement and trusted counsel.
  • Lead complex employee relations investigations and escalate to corporate HR/legal as needed; ensure consistent policy application across all departments.
  • Coach leaders through difficult conversations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and performance improvement planning.
  • Identify patterns in employee concerns and develop preventative solutions to improve organizational health and reduce escalations.
  • Lead annual performance reviews and talent assessments; conduct 9-box assessments, talent reviews, and succession planning for DFW leaders.
  • Design and deliver leadership development initiatives and executive coaching for high-potential leaders and those in expanded roles.
  • Lead recruitment for key DFW positions in partnership with Director of Talent Acquisition; oversee new hire onboarding and 30/60/90-day engagement.
  • Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives that reinforce company culture; plan HR events, wellness programs, and recognition activities.
  • Maintain accuracy of HRIS, benefits, payroll, and compliance data; develop HR processes, identify automation opportunities, and generate analytics for decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and company policies; conduct periodic audits of HR files and compliance documentation.
  • Provide direct leadership and development of DFW HR team; establish priorities, expectations, and accountability while coaching team members.
  • Support new location HR Manager through mentorship on organizational structure, staffing, culture-building, onboarding systems, and operational best practices.
  • Partner with VP of HR and Kayla (Fort Wayne HR Manager) to provide peer mentorship to new location leadership.
