Managing 22.5 million square feet operating out of more than 190 sites across North America and Europe with a team of 9,000. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Human Resources Manager to serve as the primary HR leader for a multi-site client group. This role partners closely with Operations Leadership to manage the full employee lifecycle, ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state employment laws, and deliver consistent, high-quality HR services across multiple locations. This position is ideal for a hands-on HR professional with strong working knowledge of U.S. employment law, experience supporting hourly and exempt populations, and the ability to balance strategic HR initiatives with day-to-day employee relations and operational support.

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. employment and benefits laws including ADA/ADEA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, Wage & Hour, and immigration regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7+ years of HR Manager experience in a distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (DMAIC, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • ADP Workforce Now and UKG Pro experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters a positive employee relations environment through fair and consistent application of policies, proactive communication, and effective issue resolution.
  • Leads employee relations activities including investigations, coaching, counseling, and corrective action, ensuring compliance with company policy and State and Federal employment regulations.
  • Supports and implements HR programs aligned with overall business and operational strategies.
  • Analyzes HR metrics such as turnover, retention, time-to-fill, and recruiting spend; prepares reports and partners with leaders to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Builds strong relationships with site leadership to support policy administration, performance management, and effective internal communication.
  • Partners with managers to identify performance gaps, develop corrective action plans, and support employee development.
  • Ensures business unit needs are met through collaboration with Operations and HR Shared Services.
  • Provides leadership and guidance in employee relations, performance reviews, compensation planning, coaching, recruitment, succession planning, and policy interpretation.
  • Adapts quickly to organizational change while promoting a culture aligned with company values and continuous improvement.
  • Serves as the on-site expert for U.S. federal and state employment law compliance, including but not limited to: ADA / ADEA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, Wage & Hour.
  • Monitors legislative changes and ensures HR policies and practices remain compliant across all supported states.
  • Ensures consistent, fair, and legally defensible application of workplace policies and practices.
  • Leads investigations into employee concerns and partners with leadership to implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Administers Workers’ Compensation programs including claims management, modified duty, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Partners with Operations to support OSHA compliance and workplace safety programs.
  • Leads accident investigations and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implements corrective actions to reduce incidents and future risk exposure.
  • Partners with site leadership to develop engagement action plans and foster a positive workplace environment.
  • Promotes a high-involvement culture where employees are encouraged to provide input and participate in decision-making.
  • Ensures company values and expected behaviors are consistently demonstrated at all levels.
  • Drives morale and retention through effective employee relations practices and recognition programs.
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes trends, and develops retention-focused action plans.
  • Supports compensation processes and facilitates open, transparent communication.
  • Oversees employee data changes, onboarding/offboarding.
  • Coordinates and tracks required annual training programs, including harassment prevention, safety, orientation, and leadership development.
  • Identifies development needs and partners with Learning & Development to implement site-specific training solutions.
  • Supports operational improvements through workforce capability building.
  • Provides coaching to supervisors and team members to support leadership growth and team effectiveness.
  • Manages end-to-end recruitment activities within established budgets to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Partners with hiring managers on selection decisions, compensation considerations, and workforce planning.
  • Develops and executes cost-effective recruiting strategies and workforce pipelines.
  • Manages contingent workforce programs and vendor relationships.
  • Conducts pre-employment screenings and supports benefits communication.
  • Represents the company at job fairs and community hiring events.
