About The Position

The Human Resources Manager will own and lead the organization’s HR function end-to-end. This is our first in-house HR hire. That means you won’t be stepping into a fully built machine. You’ll be helping design it. You’ll oversee employee and contractor lifecycle management, payroll coordination, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, and performance processes. You will serve as the primary internal HR leader, partnering closely with executive leadership while coordinating with external legal and compliance advisors when necessary. This role is for someone who wants real ownership not just execution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations.
  • Experience supporting remote teams and international contractors.
  • Comfortable being the primary HR owner, not one of many layers.
  • Strong communicator who can clearly explain policies, processes, and decisions.
  • Calm and steady when conversations get hard.
  • High integrity with excellent judgment handling confidential matters.
  • Detail-oriented but not rigid.
  • People-first, but understands business realities.
  • Motivated by building systems that help teams perform at a higher level.
  • Ownership mindset , you don’t wait to be told what to do.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible HR experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating as a primary or sole HR resource strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and manager inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, 401k, payroll processes, and HR procedures.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on HR strategy, policies, and employee relations matters.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational changes, and HR initiatives as the company grows.
  • Lead HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and update HR policies, procedures, programs, and employee handbooks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international employment laws, partnering with external consultants and compliance advisors when needed.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date employee and contractor records.
  • Support audits and compliance reviews through strong documentation and record retention.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and employee retention strategies.
  • Lead new hire orientation and ensure smooth onboarding experiences.
  • Process and manage employment documentation including hires, terminations, job changes, promotions, and salary adjustments.
  • Oversee management of international contractors.
  • Coordinate performance review cycles, promotions, development plans, and related documentation.
  • Advise managers on performance management, terminations, disciplinary actions, and employee relations issues.
  • Oversee compensation changes, conducting and applying compensation reviews in partnership with leadership.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and rewards programs, serving as liaison with providers and vendors.
  • Process payroll in coordination with Finance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead training, professional development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Help foster a high-performance, high-trust culture.
  • Assist in coordinating team-building and engagement activities that strengthen connection across a distributed team.
  • All other duties as assigned.
