The Human Resource Manager has a management role within the Finance & Administration Unit of the Department of Commerce. The position reports to the Deputy Director/Chief of Staff of Commerce. This position will serve as the HR Manager for all human resource related tasks, responsibilities and issues for the Commerce Department and will support the development of all staff to successfully train and develop for personal growth and promotion opportunities. This position provides guidance as disseminated by the Commerce Department and Office of Human Resources as it relates to the inter-connected work and relationship with Commerce. In addition, this position will also work in collaboration with the Director of Operations & Culture, which supports, coordinates and collaborates to provide training and engagement to maximize employee performance in an environment that promotes positive morale, diversity, and inclusion. Duties include a broad range of activities including acting as primary liaison between employees and executive management to implement operational practices, and procedures that benefit the department and its logistical and technical needs. Manages all aspects of day-to-day office operations including accessibility of administrative office support, IT support, and department or floor logistics.
