Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of proven generalist HR experience.
  • Strong leadership, management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with and motivate a variety of personality types while maintaining tact and diplomacy.
  • Maintain and develop a strong network of contacts in the hospitality industry.
  • Stay abreast of market knowledge and adjust strategies as necessary to remain competitive.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration, building positive relationships with leadership and teams.
  • Utilize problem-solving methodologies for decision-making and follow-up.
  • Ability to manage projects and meet established timelines.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong influencing, persuading, coaching, and negotiating skills.
  • Confident in managing HR and advising managers on all aspects of people management and development.
  • Highly experienced and up-to-date with all aspects of current employment law and HR best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) highly preferred; certification may be achieved within one year of employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience using HR/Accounting software highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Aid department heads with recruiting, onboarding, team member engagement, training, and development using tools like Predictive Index, internal and brand training, and other resources.
  • Assist department heads in designing hiring plans based on seasonal needs.
  • Prepare team members for success by establishing and conducting engaging orientation and training programs.
  • Assist with team member benefits enrollment and educate team members on all company benefits.
  • Assist the General Manager and department heads with managing annual performance reviews and discretionary compensation increases.
  • Review and monitor turnover, overtime, and other reports, implementing approved programs to control labor (e.g., retention and recognition programs).
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state human resource requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Ensure, follow, and complete team member I-9s as required by federal law.
  • Maintain required state and federal law poster compliance at the property location.
  • Oversee the process to ensure team members accurately adhere to attendance and work schedules, including paid time off, overtime, and breaks.
  • Ensure team members comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Aid the General Manager and department heads in counseling and disciplining team members; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Assist the General Manager and department heads with team member complaints and grievances.
  • Oversee the process and submission of Workers' Compensation, Property, and Guest Liability incidents to HUB.
  • Plan engaging rallies for the recognition of team members throughout the year.
  • Schedule, plan, and participate in the yearly community activities calendar in coordination with the General Manager and selected organizations.
  • Lead by example in company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Update the team member break room monthly for upcoming events.
  • Know and comply with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
