This position originates and leads Human Resources practices that will provide an employee orientated, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, development, quality, productivity and the recruitment of a superior workforce. Serves as an internal consultant to the site’s leadership team on Human Resources, Training and EHS topics/issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Management or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in the field of human resources.
  • Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Must have strong communication and operating instincts, good strategic skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to achieve facility goals by leveraging Human Resources expertise
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Leads Safety First culture by participating in the investigation of accidents and injuries and preparing the material and evidence for organization use in hearings, litigation, and insurance investigations and assist as warranted in representing the employer.
  • Act as employee (all levels) advocate by maintaining positive working relationships with all employees, facilitating site’s focus groups, the implementation of employee suggestions, and leading a development culture for our work force.
  • Assists in the development of and communicates various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations to all employees and leaders at the site.
  • Respond to and investigates employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints in a professional, confidential, and timely manner by using fact-finding meetings and interviews, in person or over the phone. Provides detailed documentation of incident(s) to the supervisor and communicate a proposed action plan for approval prior to implementation of resolution.
  • Monitor employee attendance levels on a weekly basis and issue warnings as applicable.
  • Supervises, coaches and develops site production trainer.
  • Monitor and represent employer in unemployment compensation matters as appropriate for site.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work in a matrix driven environment. This would include human resource activities, metrics and analysis that will show trends, evaluate cost efficiencies and determine time to fill in meeting recruiting needs.
  • Conduct full cycle recruiting process for all openings specific to the site. This would include building a pipeline of talent, attending career/job fairs, scheduling and conducting interviews, extending offers of employment, pre-employment screening, and onboarding of the candidate.
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the leadership team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and promote company brand within the communities we are located and establish local partnerships.
  • Attend all site leadership meetings representing Human Resources and site employees.
  • Assures site leadership properly accounts for weekly hours for payroll. Double check accuracy of their work and submit hours for approval by Site Mgr.
  • Responsible for all supervisory functions related to department staff including safety and environmental compliance, overtime/vacation/absenteeism coverages, work force planning, personnel related issues, cross-training and performance management.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and guidelines including the company handbook.
  • Offer plant/company-wide continuous improvement suggestions
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
