About The Position

Kinperium-Hiniker LLC (Hiniker) is a Minnesota based manufacturer with roots in the agricultural equipment industry since 1970 and continuing today. In 1995, Hiniker branched into designing and manufacturing snow removal equipment. In 2024, we expanded our offerings with the acquisition of Daniels Plows, further strengthening our commitment to high-quality snow removal solutions. We are currently seeking an onsite Human Resources Manager with experience and background within the manufacturing industry. This is an onsite position located in Mankato, MN. In this role, the Human Resource Manager will be hands-on and self-direct the routine functions of Human Resources. This will include direct involvement with Hiniker's talent acquisition plan, including writing job descriptions, payroll and employee benefits, and managing the performance and compensation programs. The HR Manager position will be actively involved with employee relations, from engagement, training, safety, including conflict resolution and investigations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of human resource field experience is required.
  • Experience with workplace investigation, conflict management, and handling employee grievances and discipline.
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred. HS Diploma or GED plus equivalent work experience is acceptable.
  • Human Resources certifications such as, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Departmental Managers to develop Fiscal Year (FY) staffing plans.
  • Ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and current.
  • Will create job descriptions with new positions within the company and for recruitment.
  • Publish open positions to the market and post internally.
  • Manages the interview processes through to onboarding hired candidates.
  • Develops and implements the Company’s Employee Retention Plans.
  • Monitor Turnover data to identify potential trends and recommend strategies to minimize impact to the Company.
  • Partners with team to develop and identify succession planning strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and trends.
  • Partner with Executive Management team to develop reward strategies that motivate employees, increases engagement, and demonstrated by reduced organizational turnover rate.
  • Works with the Benefit providers and communicates plan design options and/or changes to employees.
  • Participate in the annual Open Enrollment meetings with all employees.
  • Conducts benefit overview during new hire orientations.
  • Responsible for administering payroll processing timely.
  • Maintain payroll recordkeeping.
  • Provide support to financial team with payroll data.
  • Evaluates employee performance programs for effectiveness.
  • Works with managers/supervisors to ensure appraisals are completed in time.
  • Proposes evaluation process improvements and work to implementation.
  • Ongoing training content review/evaluation to ensure employee learning.
  • Works with Supervisors to define and develop job training aids. May assist with outside sourcing for training materials.
  • Ensures that the Company is following employment laws and keeps knowledge current with policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Keep knowledge current with the local, state, federal, and provincial laws and regulations as they relate to employment and safety compliance.
  • Demonstrate through action safety practices throughout all areas of the workplace.
  • Ensures the company is in compliance with OSHA standards as they relate to the manufacturing industry.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and work to implement changes where required and/or needed.
  • Defines the company’s safety training materials, deliveries, and schedules throughout North America.
  • Promotes a safety minded organizational culture.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Promotes and encourages employee growth through learning, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
