The Human Resources Manager manages human resources activities, including employee and union relations, performance review, recruitment, leave of absence, workplace accommodation, workers compensation, training, benefits administration, payroll, and office services. This role involves managing the Human Resources Payroll Administrator and Human Resources Office Service Coordinator, upholding organizational core values, advising management on various HR matters, attending due process meetings, creating responses for government agency claims, managing the exit interview process, advising on employee retention strategies, administering policies and collective bargaining agreements, responding to employee grievances, managing disciplinary matters, establishing relationships with union representatives, preparing letters of understanding, determining and composing written disciplinary notices, making recommendations for suspensions/terminations, composing and updating HR policies, coaching management, managing training programs, responding to HR policy inquiries, maintaining knowledge of employment and labor laws, conducting complex employee investigations, creating and updating job descriptions, managing leave of absence and workplace accommodation processes, managing workplace safety, managing the 401K program, ensuring accurate and timely filing of required reports (EEO-1, CA Pay Data, DOL Multiple Worksite report), managing ADP Total Reward Statements, ADP ACA Health Compliance, W-2 processing, managing monthly payroll bills, managing ADP Compliance checklists, updating timekeeping/payroll manuals and Payroll Standard Operating procedures, managing HIPAA security compliance, creating and updating standard operating procedures, managing employee events and recognition initiatives, completing HR goals, sourcing professional development training, championing mission/vision/values/culture, executing employee engagement surveys, assisting in policy development, coordinating recruitment processes, managing relationships with business partners, reviewing HR Generalist work, analyzing and summarizing HR data and trends, approving unemployment claim responses, managing the I-9 process, managing independent contractor agreements, and auditing Payroll functions.
