About The Position

The OCOK Human Resources Manager (HRM) administers human resource plans and procedures and serves as an advisor to management on HR-related matters. This position acts as an employee champion and change agent. Under the guidance of the OCOK Director of Human Resources (DHR), the HRM supports department goals and objectives in alignment with OCOK’s annual human resources plan. The HRM has primary responsibility for the annual rollout of performance management and employee relations. The HRM also supports benefits administration, wellness, engagement, and employee experience initiatives as assigned to promote retention, organizational effectiveness, and a positive workplace culture. The position requires sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Five years of experience supporting various Human Resources functions required.
  • Two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations, including ACA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and workers’ compensation.
  • Must be able to multitask effectively.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers human resource plans and procedures.
  • Serves as an advisor to management on HR-related matters.
  • Acts as an employee champion and change agent.
  • Supports department goals and objectives in alignment with OCOK’s annual human resources plan.
  • Has primary responsibility for the annual rollout of performance management and employee relations.
  • Supports benefits administration, wellness, engagement, and employee experience initiatives.
  • Actively participates with the OCOK Leadership and Human Resources teams.
  • Participates regularly in leadership meetings.
  • Consults with OCOK Leadership and provides HR guidance as appropriate.
  • Provides input on HR processes and supports implementation within the business unit, including employee relations, performance management.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues and conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of OCOK HR requirements related to day-to-day employee management, helps reduce legal risk, and supports regulatory compliance.
  • Partners with other HR team members and/or legal counsel as needed.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Supports best practices related to employee communication, recognition, wellness, and team building.
  • Provides guidance and input on OCOK program restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Supports unemployment best practices and related response processes.
  • Provides final overview and approval of all OCOK personnel changes in HRIS.
  • Provides support for regular audits, monitoring, and accreditation processes.
  • Provides support to the DHR for OCOK HR-related issues.
  • Supports benefits, wellness, engagement, and employee experience initiatives in alignment with organizational objectives, employee needs, and HR best practices.
  • Assists with the administration and communication of employee programs and resources that support employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provides support for benefits-related processes, reporting, audits, and compliance activities as assigned.
  • Collaborates with leadership and the Human Resources team to promote a positive employee experience and support organizational culture initiatives.
  • Completes special projects as needed.
