About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources & Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting our in-house attorney, along with various HR functions and ensuring the smooth operation of our legal and human resources departments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of basic legal practices, human resources practices, and be familiar with various HR software systems. Requirements

  • Previous experience in a law firm or other legal capacity is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills within the legal and HR domains.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in human resources or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with HR software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Assist our in-house attorney with Attorney General responses, legal compliance issues, and privacy and security compliance.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and assist with workers' compensation and disability claims as needed.
  • Utilize ATS (Applicant Tracking System) tools to manage candidate pipelines effectively.
  • Participate in change management initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Conduct HR sourcing activities to identify potential candidates for open positions.
  • Support various HR projects and initiatives as assigned by senior HR staff.
