About The Position

The Washington office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking to hire a Human Resources/Compliance and Staff Development Intern to be a part of our Talent Management team based in the Washington Office. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,300 lawyers located in 16 offices in six countries. The Intern will support the Director of Compliance and Staff Development. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious and have the ability to adapt to changing priorities, and maintain confidential information at all times. Additionally, candidates will have strong communication, proactive, attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for candidates available to work at least three to four days during the week between the standards business hours of 9:00 am - 5:30 pm for a year-long internship.

Requirements

  • Must be in the process of completing an associates, undergraduate degree or high school degree with a strong GPA
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to have strong organizational and time management while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build interpersonal relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred concentration and/or interest in Human Resources, Compliance or Learning & Development
  • Previous office experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support with several routine administrative tasks such as but not limited to:
  • Type and assemble correspondences and other formal documents
  • Schedule appointments for team meetings, trainings or Firm events
  • Develop and maintain organized filing systems
  • Create audits and enter data into computer files or database system
  • Work on specific projects related to Compliance and Employment Policies.
  • Provide exceptional administrative support to attorneys and staff while maintaining communication with attorneys, staff and manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned
