About The Position

Columbia Construction is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to support our People Strategies team during Summer 2026. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced construction management environment, with exposure to core HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, employee wellness, learning & development, and field support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a career in HR while gaining real-world experience supporting both office staff and field teams.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or work experience in HR or administrative roles
  • Interest in construction management or related industries

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting efforts, including job postings, resume screening, and interview coordination
  • Support onboarding processes for new hires, including preparing materials and facilitating orientation
  • Help maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Partner with HR team members to support field employees and jobsite needs
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company events
  • Support Employee Wellness programs, including coordinating wellness initiatives, communications, and participation tracking
  • Assist with Learning & Development efforts, including scheduling trainings, tracking completion, and helping organize internal development programs
  • Support compliance efforts, including file audits and policy tracking
  • Help respond to employee questions and direct them to appropriate resources
  • Contribute to special HR projects and process improvements as needed
