About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a detail oriented, customer focused, and organized individual for our Human Resources - Immigration Intern position. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer in Pullman, WA . If you are looking for the opportunity to support Human Resources within SEL's Immigration division, then this position is for you! As an HR - Immigration Intern, a typical day might include the following: Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers. Provide support to one or more applied disciplines including, but not limited to, Benefits, Compensation, Compliance, EH&S, Recruiting, and Learning & Development. Modify and update applicant, candidate, employee, and/or organizational data accurately. Respond to applicant, candidate, employee, and/or community inquiries, concerns and needs. Cross-train with other department members to ensure seamless support of all HR duties. Manage confidential files and other privileged information.

Requirements

  • Are a current student pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a related field at an accredited institution.
  • Possess proficient knowledge of MS Office.
  • Can maintain confidentiality and demonstrated discretion in handling sensitive information and data.
  • Have excellend communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Are able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Have background check results satisfactory to SEL.
  • Have negative drug test result(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems
  • Knowledge of HR laws and practices
