About The Position

Sofidel America, a subsidiary of the global paper product manufacturer Sofidel Group, is experiencing significant growth. Headquartered in Pennsylvania, Sofidel America operates manufacturing facilities across multiple states and is seeking a dynamic Human Resources (HR) Generalist for its tissue converting facility in Duncan, SC. This role will lead the HR function, oversee an HR assistant, and serve as a strategic business partner to site leaders. The HR Generalist will manage all areas of HR, including employee relations, payroll systems, recruiting, leadership development, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. The position requires outstanding interpersonal skills and strong multitasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced 24/7/365 manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment law
  • Proficient in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and recruitment platforms
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
  • High ethical standards and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and execution of HR strategies, policies, and initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership on HR matters such as performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, track time and attendance for a non-exempt population of ~150 employees.
  • Oversee employee orientation and onboarding programs, ensuring a seamless transition for new hires.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Process unemployment claims and handle communications in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Coach and advise management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to promote fairness and consistency.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs to support employee growth and engagement.
  • Track and analyze turnover rates, exit interviews, and HR metrics to drive strategic improvements.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Participate in audits, reporting, and the tracking of HR metrics for corporate and regulatory purposes.
  • Lead employee engagement efforts; coordinate site events.
  • Perform additional HR functions as assigned to support department and business success.
