About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist supports overall plant HR tasks including but not limited to: talent acquisition (recruitment, on-boarding), talent management (employee development, employee relations, performance management, training), benefits, payroll, time and attendance and environmental, health and safety (EHS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • At least 3 years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing/aerospace environment
  • Working knowledge of California Labor Code, wage and hour compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Office software skills
  • Experience with HR, payroll and time and attendance systems

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the recruitment, screening and selection of candidates for open positions.
  • Handles new hire boarding process including: reference and background checks, drug screens and collection of new hire documentation.
  • Conducts new hire orientations.
  • Assists assigned location(s) with time and attendance tracking.
  • Assures timely and accurate input of personnel data into HR and time and attendance systems.
  • Conducts compliance training with employees
  • Assists with tracking employee training
  • Communicates benefits-related information to information to employees, as needed.
  • Ensures employment and other HR-related postings are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assists managers and supervisors with employee performance reviews.
  • Ensures employee compliance to established policies and procedures
  • Oversee leave administration including FMLA, CFRA, Pregnancy Disability Leave, and other protected leave programs.
  • Ensure compliance with California Labor Code (including Sections 510 and 511), Industrial Welfare Commission Wage Orders, meal and rest period regulations, and overtime laws.
  • Administer wage and salary programs to ensure internal equity and compliance with California Equal Pay Act.
  • Responds to unemployment claims, garnishments and employment verification, as needed.
  • Conducts investigations and helps to determine resolution of employee concerns. This may include conducting suspension and/or termination of employees.
  • Ensures monthly headcount submission is conducted in a timely manner.
  • Manages and maintains manual and electronic files by assuring completeness, accuracy and compliance to regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Supports incentive compensation plans and programs.
  • Answers employee’s HR-related questions for all shifts.
  • Participates in monthly meetings (employee meetings, management reviews, etc.)
  • Works with environmental, health and safety coordinators at sites.
  • Contacts worker’s compensation administrator to open claims when injuries occur and may also discuss open claims with administrator.
  • Collaborates with headquarters personnel in relation to governmental reporting for affirmative action plans and equal opportunity filings.
  • Participates in other HR projects and initiatives, as assigned.
  • Promote a culture aligned with AS9100 quality management system requirements and continuous improvement.
