About The Position

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on professional level and works closely with senior HR Management. Oversees all aspects of Human Resources within a manufacturing plant, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits and compliance to ensure a productive and engaged workforce. They work closely with plant management to align HR practices with business goals and address the specific needs of a manufacturing environment. In partnership with the corporate Human Resources Team, the local HR Generalist will be responsible for the following, including but not limited to: Recruiting and OnBoarding: Full cycle recruitment and onboarding including sourcing, screening and scheduling interviews. Working with corporate HR Team, execute all steps of hiring process including initiating background checks and drug screens. Verify I-9 documentation and complete Form I-9. Conduct New Hire Orientations Connect with local organizations to participate in Job Fairs to enhance recruiting efforts. Terminations: Provide guidance to managers on pre-termination progressive discipline process Support leadership on performance that leads to terminations ensuring all documentation is filed Work with managers on resignations and timely replacement. Employee Relations: Manage employee relations, addressing grievances and conflicts, and fostering a positive work environment. Respond to HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance. Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor laws, regulations, and company policies, including safety regulations. Compensation and Benefits: Create and maintain Job / Wage Analysis spreadsheets. Research and provide guidance on range for hourly and salaried employees to ensure company remains competitive in wage offerings. Assist with presentations during Annual Benefit Open Enrollment Period and be the subject matter expert for New Hire Open Enrollment. HR Administration / Site Administration: Maintain accurate HR records and manage other HR administrative tasks Support Facility Leadership with reports (Excel), Announcements (Word) and other special projects Act as “Front Office” support gathering mail and packages and distributing as needed. Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to company safety policies and environmental regulations. Liaison with Management: Act as a liaison between the workforce and management, addressing concerns and providing support. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Effectively communicating with employees and management at all levels, with an ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Able to make in-person presentations to employee groups.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills: Addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations: Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of HR best practices: Implementing effective HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment: Familiarity with the unique challenges and needs of a manufacturing workplace.
  • Experience with HR systems and databases: Managing HR data and processes efficiently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Associates degree in human resources or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in HR Specialist or HR Generalist role.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly in person and on the telephone.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English / Spanish is a plus.
