The Human Resources (HR) Generalist serves as a strategic partner within the Office of Human Resources, providing comprehensive support to a diverse employee population, including faculty, staff, adjuncts, and contingent employees. This position delivers a broad range of HR services across key functional areas, such as recruitment, compensation and classification, employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation and implementation, and training and development. The HR Generalist ensures that all HR practices align with USM and FSU policies and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace environment. This position is responsible for administering core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation and classification, policy compliance, and training in support of a diverse employee population. The HR Generalist must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while exercising sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
