As our Human Resources Generalist, you will report to the HR Manager and be located at our Wenger Product Division site in Sabetha, KS. You will support the daily administration of Human Resources programs. You will provide hands-on HR support across recruiting, onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, engagement programs, and compliance activities. The HR Generalist serves as a primary contact for employees and leaders while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring accurate execution of HR processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs across the employee lifecycle. Be a primary contact for employee HR questions related to benefits, payroll, PTO, and policies. Administer and coordinate employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA-related leave, short- and long-term disability, military leave, and company-sponsored leaves, managing certifications, medical documentation, carrier and third-party administrator coordination, and confidential tracking in compliance with federal, state, and company requirements. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HRIS and personnel files. Audit HR files to ensure compliance and document accuracy. Ensure federal and state employment postings are current. Coordinate interview schedules and support recruiting processes. Complete new hire onboarding and orientation activities. Prepare onboarding documentation and orientation materials. Support the termination and offboarding process, including exit interviews and post-employment benefit questions. Enter and maintain employee data affecting payroll, including pay changes, deductions, and leave. Prepare HR metrics and reports. Support payroll processing and benefits enrollment activities. Coordinate performance review cycles and track completion. Help with employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and service awards. Organize employee events, benefits meetings, and appreciation activities. Prepare and distribute internal communications. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and administrative efficiency. Support HR programs for additional locations. Perform other responsibilities consistent with the scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of HR or administrative experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
