About The Position

The Human Resource Generalist serves as an operational backbone for the East Region Human Resources team at Hartford HealthCare, supporting program design and implementation, screening and resolution of employee relations issues based on tier of risk/severity, leading standard work development to improve quality and process effectiveness, providing data updates, reporting and analysis for drivers and strategic objectives, daily metrics and huddle preparation, and managing ongoing logistics, personnel file management and office equipment/supply management. Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Minimum of two years of experience across Human Resources functions (e.g., HR administration (talent management, org. development, benefits, policy, employee relations, HRIS, etc.))
  • Must be able to prioritize, plan, and complete work activities in an efficient, timely manner.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated.
  • Works with minimal supervision and exercises common sense and strong independent judgment to problem-solve.
  • Has the ability to identify core issues and resolve them via effectively utilizing available resources.
  • Consistently works with integrity to develop strong trusting relationships and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Possesses a proactive approach to accomplishing work, has immaculate follow up, and demonstrates the flexibility to meet business needs with a focus on achieving results.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and support HHC orientations and employee registration; manage second day orientations if applicable, presenting information as needed.
  • Partner with orientation and onboarding coordinator to ensure that all required new hire, onboarding, licensure and screening documents are obtained, completed, entered, and tracked in accordance with entity and HHC policies and governmental regulations.
  • Facilitate onboarding and M&A transfer tasks of the Human Resources Department, including requests for documents, reports, badges, and other employment-related items and activities. Guide employees to HHC Connect as appropriate to teach them how to find available resources.
  • Provide ideas and lead process improvements to increase departmental efficiency and services performed without compromising accuracy.
  • Build general knowledge of Human Resources practices and laws related to management of employees; apply this knowledge to assist colleagues and clients in programmatic and operations initiatives to improve employee engagement and experience.
  • Manage low-risk employee relations issues; Utilize listening and problem solving skills, Human Resources knowledge, and common sense to interpret policies and processes and correctly address employee questions and concerns.
  • Participate on cross-functional Human Resources teams to contribute to community of practice and system initiatives. Actively collaborate with colleagues and drive projects to completion.
  • Complete local Human Resources projects through proactive and resourceful data gathering and analysis.
  • Build and utilize analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills in combination with business acumen to actively contribute to strategic HR initiatives.
  • Determines and organizes processes to create standard work and other protocols as needed to promote and sustain a Lean environment.
