Job Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting a wide variety of activities, including, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance with federal and local labor laws. This role contributes to fostering a positive and productive work environment. Additionally, the HR Generalist advises managers, supervisors, or administrators on all HR practices.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced team environment where the management team and staff work remotely, in office, and across various time zones
  • Ability to effectively interact with and influence at all organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently while prioritizing and multi tasking effectively to meet deadlines
  • Experience developing and managing company wide programs
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, talent management systems and other programs and systems
  • Proficient with electronic communications including email and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite), specifically PowerPoint and Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in human resources, preferably in at least a generalist position
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentially
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Customer service focused

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures
  • Collaborate to share best practices, leverage resources, and ensure consistency
  • Advise and assist management and employees on labor related issues, such as employment contracts, termination, compensations, and benefits
  • Assist the HR Manager in overseeing the day to day functions of the HR, HRIS and Benefits teams
  • Handles sensitive employee information with the utmost confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations and company policies
  • Assist employees with questions in the ticketing system
  • Assisting in the drafting, renewal, and maintenance of employment letters and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Regularly review and update processes and procedures to align with legal requirements and best practices
  • Lead project meetings and makes presentations
  • Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations
  • This position may require periodic travel to RailPros headquarters, field offices or client offices, work sites and other project related locations
