CODA, Inc. is seeking a dependable and service-minded Human Resources Generalist to support employees throughout their experience with our organization—from pre-employment and onboarding through leave administration, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work coordination. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, or similarly related area of study - OR – a general degree with significant experience in human resources.
  • 2 years of experience in leave administration functions preferred
  • Previous experience in human resources, employee services, benefits, leave administration, or a related administrative role
  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow through consistently
  • Sound judgment when working with confidential and sensitive information
  • A welcoming, professional, and customer-focused approach
  • Comfort learning and using HR information systems and other workplace technology
  • Knowledge of FMLA, OFLA, Paid Leave Oregon, ADA accommodations, disability claims, or workers’ compensation—or a strong interest in developing this knowledge
  • The ability to collaborate effectively while also working independently

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating pre-employment and onboarding activities, including background checks, drug screenings, licenses, certifications, and required documentation
  • Preparing employee files and supporting new hires through New Employee Orientation
  • Maintaining accurate personnel records, HR information system data, policies, forms, and other required documentation
  • Providing responsive, professional customer service to employees, candidates, managers, and outside partners
  • Assisting with the administration and tracking of employee leaves, including FMLA, OFLA, Paid Leave Oregon, personal leave, and short- and long-term disability
  • Preparing leave and accommodation correspondence and providing status updates to employees, managers, payroll, and HR leadership
  • Monitoring leave dates, expected returns, extensions, intermittent leave, and return-to-work documentation
  • Maintaining confidential records related to leaves, workplace accommodations, and employee restrictions
  • Supporting the ADA accommodation process and coordinating follow-up with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and HR leadership
  • Assisting employees and supervisors with workers’ compensation procedures, required forms, and general questions
  • Helping ensure reportable workers’ compensation claims are submitted to SAIF within required timelines
  • Staying informed about applicable leave, disability, accommodation, and workers’ compensation requirements
  • Collaborating with the HR team to improve forms, communications, procedures, and the overall employee experience
