About The Position

Dana-co LLC is seeking a proactive and resourceful Human Resources Generalist to join our team in New York City. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, building strong relationships across the business, and supporting a broad range of HR functions in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their experience across employee relations, performance management, recruiting, HR operations, and organizational support while gaining meaningful exposure to business leadership and day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of HR experience in a coordinator, administrator, or generalist capacity
  • Experience supporting multiple areas of HR, including employee relations, onboarding, HR operations, or performance management
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow through with minimal oversight
  • Comfortable balancing strategic and administrative responsibilities in a lean, hands-on environment
  • Roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with a willingness to support both day-to-day operations and longer-term initiatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities may shift
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as BambooHR or PrismHR is a plus
  • Experience within apparel, retail, consumer products, wholesale, or other entrepreneurial environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related questions, guidance, and support
  • Coordinate and manage onboarding and offboarding processes from start to finish
  • Support employee relations matters, including responding to employee concerns and partnering with managers on appropriate next steps
  • Assist with performance management processes, including annual reviews, documentation, and follow-up conversations
  • Support recruiting coordination and candidate experience, as needed
  • Partner with payroll and benefits providers (PEO) to help resolve employee inquiries and administrative matters
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support HR compliance and reporting activities
  • Assist with HR projects, process improvements, and day-to-day departmental operations
  • Help support a positive, collaborative, and employee-focused workplace culture
