About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) is a critical member of the Human Resources team, working closely with all members of the HR team and supporting many critical functions of HR including benefits administration, HR reporting, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, compliance, talent acquisition, and more. The HRG will be hands-on and involved in ensuring a positive, “white glove” candidate and onboarding experience for new hires. They will become an HRIS super user in Paycom, providing administrative and system troubleshooting in the following areas (applicant tracking, onboarding, employee data management, reporting, etc.). The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong attention to detail who enjoys data and systems focused work as well as interacting with and supporting employees. This role has a fun balance between being employee facing, as well as behind the scenes. This role will report to the Director of Human Resources. This is a hybrid role with the expectation of 2-3 days in office per week.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of human resources experience; or 3+ years of human resources and professional experience without a degree
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment practices, federal and multi-state employment laws; California employment law experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, or equivalent
  • Intermediate HRIS and reporting experience, prior Paycom experience preferred
  • Comfort with learning new technologies, including AI

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a champion of our company culture including supporting a people-first culture throughout all interactions with a service mindset – including in person, video, phone, and email interactions
  • Assist Director of HR with HR projects including annual compensation, performance management, etc.
  • Conduct feedback surveys, collecting key data related to employee onboarding, retention, and exits; Analyze feedback data and present trends and recommendations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, responding within twenty-four hours
  • Maintain HR records and employee files while keeping files organized and maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Maintain learning management system (LMS) including assigning and tracking compliance training completion within HRIS
  • Utilize HR data and compile reports from the HRIS, including recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly HR reporting
  • Support benefits administration activities, including routine enrollment audits and employee inquiries
  • Manage qualified life events and dependent age out
  • Monitor benefits carrier file feeds and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain monthly and annual ACA compliance in HRIS
  • Assist with annual open enrollment, including plan setup in HRIS, OE communications and presentations, answering employee inquiries, and audits
  • Support HRIS system administration and efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with federal and multi-state employment laws through workforce policies and compliance initiatives including EEO-1, VETS, I-9, E-Verify, etc., while ensuring policies and programs enhance operational efficiency and are fair and equitable, including California state compliance
  • Support recruitment efforts across multiple business units
  • Maintain applicant tracking system, including posting, and maintaining open job requisitions
  • Drive applicant and candidate engagement through social media postings and increasing our employment brand awareness within our industry
  • Conduct initial phone screens, as needed
  • Communicate with candidates and ensure a timely and positive candidate experience
  • Schedule virtual and in person interviews
  • Maintain job descriptions for all positions, working with hiring managers to update existing or create new job descriptions, as needed
  • Draft offer letters and obtain internal approvals
  • Administer all onboarding activities including initiating onboarding process, I-9 and E-Verify administration and compliance, tax surveys, and new hire paperwork
  • Process pre-employment background screening and drug testing; administer random drug testing program, as applicable
  • Audit the new hire process for accuracy, completion, and compliance
