About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting the Anaheim Ducks and San Diego Gulls. This position serves as a versatile and integral member of the Human Resources team, contributing to the development and execution of HR initiatives, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and delivering exceptional employee experiences. The HR Generalist supports various HR functions, such as employee records management, employee relations, leave of absence management, talent acquisition, performance management, and event coordination, while driving process improvements and supporting strategic HR goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ year of related experience
  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and employment law
  • Proficiency with HR Information Systems and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse populations effectively
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive team player with a commitment to relationship-building and fostering a positive employee experience
  • Able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Able to travel including working in both Anaheim and San Diego offices on a regular basis

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, benefits documentation, performance records, and compliance documents such as I-9s
  • Manage and audit employee identification credentials and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Support organizational compliance efforts, including maintaining personnel and regulatory files to meet legal requirements
  • Responsible for new hire compliance filing and serves as primary EDD contact for related follow-ups
  • Alongside the HRBP, oversee the new hire onboarding process and new hire tour scheduling
  • Support the offboarding process including exit logistics, system access removal, and documentation
  • Assist in the administration of leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, workers’ compensation, and company‑specific policies; provide clear communication to employees and managers regarding eligibility, timelines, extensions, accommodations, and return‑to‑work requirements
  • Partner with leadership to develop and distribute HR communications, such as internal announcements, newsletters, and updates
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives including recognition programs, wellness activities, appreciation events, and culture‑building activities
  • Assist with employee engagement surveys and follow‑up action planning
  • Support leaders with their talent acquisition efforts with primary focus on part-time recruitment
  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, workplace concerns, performance questions, or conflict‑resolution needs
  • Help gather information for ER matters and support HR leadership with documentation and follow‑up
  • Support the intake and documentation of employee relations matters, escalating more complex issues as needed
  • Assist in conducting initial fact-finding for routine concerns under guidance from HR leadership
  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate and compliant documentation, tracking, and reporting
  • Assist in identifying trends and recommending opportunities to strengthen employee communication and support
  • Assist in managing departmental budgets, tracking expenses, and processing invoices
  • Assist in the selection and ordering of new hire giveaways
  • Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance
  • Contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture
  • Participate in Ducks and Gulls operational events and initiatives including events led by community relations, fan development, sales, and marketing

Benefits

  • The annual base salary range for this position in California is $75,000 to $95,000 per year.
