About The Position

Human Resources Expert at Target is part of a team that champions change, proactively removes roadblocks, and builds diverse and inclusive talent strategies to deliver on Target's guest-centric mission. The HR team is committed to supporting teams and leaders to build a sales force passionate about exceeding guests’ expectations and creating a place where teams love to work. This role offers the opportunity to gain skills in understanding federal, state, and local employment laws, using basic Microsoft Office Suite and workforce management programs, and effectively using scheduling software.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays).

Responsibilities

  • Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, making eye contact, smiling, initiating helpful interactions, helping guests find what they need, resolving issues, and thanking them at the end of transactions.
  • Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
  • Work with HR leader to anticipate and address talent and staffing needs, ensuring the right mix of experience and skills for in-store and digital shopping experiences.
  • Lead focused recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates.
  • Support team member and leader training needs and advocate for continuous learning.
  • Be an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices.
  • Be approachable and available by listening to team members and collaborating with appropriate leaders to take action.
  • Deliver on all Human Resources processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption.
  • Support leader in following company compliance policies that mitigate risk to the team member experience.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training, and report hazards and correct where possible.
  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Frequently lift or move merchandise up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
  • Work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties.
  • Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Work a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts, and take required meal and rest breaks.
