About The Position

This role is part of the Human Resources (HR) team at Target, which champions change, proactively removes roadblocks, and builds diverse and inclusive talent strategies to support the company's guest-centric mission. The Human Resources Expert role offers the opportunity to gain skills in understanding federal, state, and local employment laws, using basic Microsoft Office Suite and workforce management programs, and effectively using scheduling software.

  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Frequently lift or move merchandise up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts, and take required meal and rest breaks.

Responsibilities

  • Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests, smiling, making eye contact, and initiating helpful interactions.
  • Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
  • End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
  • Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
  • Work with HR leaders to anticipate and address talent and staffing needs, ensuring the right mix of experience and skills for in-store and digital shopping experiences.
  • Lead focused recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates.
  • Support team member and leader training needs and advocate for continuous learning.
  • Serve as an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices.
  • Be approachable and available to listen to team members and collaborate with appropriate leaders to take action.
  • Deliver on all Human Resources processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption.
  • Support leaders in following company compliance policies that mitigate risk to the team member experience.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training, and report hazards.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
