HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR – ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join our dedicated and efficient team, serving the industrial waste management needs of the Midwest region. This role also supports operations in industrial cleaning and emergency spill response. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and executing tasks related to hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment and facility decontamination, and emergency spill response. The supervisor provides clear direction and leadership to Environmental Service Technicians, ensuring projects conducted outside the facility are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principals and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, payroll, and labor relations.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write in English, perform mathematical calculations to accurately and legibly complete required paperwork.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.

  • At least two years of experience in Human Resource Management including payroll and benefit administration.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid state driver’s license from your state of residency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including excel or related software.
  • Experience working in accounting software programs, such as Dynamics.
  • Experience with Paycom payroll system or equivalent.
  • Experience with GeoTab, Lytics, DriverReach/Tenstreet

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, preferably.
  • SHRM- CP and/or HRCI-PHR certification(s), preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Enters, maintains, and/or otherwise processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees; hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other required information.
  • Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
  • Provides administrative support for the employee insurance programs, including life, disability, and health insurance plans.
  • Provides administrative support for the employee savings plan, which may include the company’s 401(k) plan and personal savings plans.
  • Advises and informs employes of changes and developments related to benefits, including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using HRIS.
  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
  • Completes any Human Resources related audits, including, but not limited to 401(k), safety, workers’ compensation, unemployment.
  • Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork, including onboarding process.
  • Address employee relation issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Provides administrative support for the Fleet Management system, including new truck entry, employee set-up, and weekly monitoring/performance reports.
  • Provide support to other departments such as Safety, Compliance, and Fleet Management.
  • Other tasks and duties based upon business needs.
