About The Position

This role is responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including responding to inquiries, managing recruitment and onboarding, handling offboarding processes, troubleshooting HRIS issues, administering the Work Anniversary Program, participating in the Health & Safety Committee, preparing HR reports, maintaining employee records and benefits information, launching employee surveys, supporting employment compliance reporting, managing the HR SharePoint site, coordinating culture and engagement initiatives, assisting with policy development, providing administrative support to the HR Director, and staying current with HR trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong ethics in relation to business practices, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Great attention to detail and high accuracy with data entry.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience supporting in an administrative function with Human Resources exposure.
  • Experience with technical and non-technical recruiting.
  • Experience and/or certification as a JHSC member.
  • Comfortable learning new technology.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and agile workplace environment.
  • Highly adaptable, able to multi-task and pivot.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A post-secondary education in Human Resources, or related discipline.
  • Experience with UKG or a similar HRIS.
  • Familiarity with the Canada Labour Code for federally-regulated employers.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries.
  • Action recruitment and onboarding activities including creating job requisitions/job descriptions, sourcing candidates, conducting phone screens, participating in interviews, presenting offers and facilitating offer negotiations.
  • Own offboarding processes and applicable notices and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve employee technical and/or PTO issues in the HRIS system (UKG).
  • Own the Work Anniversary Program by tracking, communicating, and purchasing gifts.
  • Join and participate as the employer appointed lead of the Health & Safety Committee to ensure safety objectives and compliance is achieved.
  • Prepare HR reports as requested.
  • Update documents and communication platforms to support transparent company communication.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system in order to support the benefits and payroll administration process.
  • Update employee benefits changes and respond to employee benefit questions.
  • Update & launch employee surveys and compile preliminary data.
  • Support employment compliance reporting by completing the Employment Equity Report as required.
  • Maintain and update the HR SharePoint site.
  • Coordinate culture and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies.
  • Provide administrative support to HR Director.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Other duties as required.
