About The Position

The Human Resources Coordinator provides day-to-day HR support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on employee lifecycle administration, hourly workforce support, compliance, and coordination of HR processes such as hiring, onboarding, attendance tracking, training, and employee relations. The HR Coordinator serves as a key contact for employees and supervisors, ensuring HR practices align with company policies, procedures, and production needs.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 1–3 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of Employment Standards Act and HR best practices
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS/timekeeping systems (ADP Workforce Now)

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and coordination support for policies, programs and services.
  • Responds to routine inquiries from managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs, and refers complex issues as appropriate.
  • Administers the following HR-related services: Recruitment (sort through resumes, perform background checks, prepare onboarding packages, assist with interviews both internal and external, coordinate with recruitment agencies); Onboarding; Compensation; Organizational structure (charts, job descriptions, and job requirements); Benefits administration (ASO Health & Dental; Short and Long-Term Disability and Life); Employee relations and outreach; Employee communications;
  • Prepares and maintains reports and database to carry out the functions of the position, including periodic reports
  • Participates in meetings with employees and managers as required.
  • Supports the administration of employee Service Awards
  • Provides coordination and record‑keeping support related to provincial and corporate compliance requirements under direction from HR leadership.
  • Maintains HR records (current and historical data). Organizes files and document storage on drives.
  • Under the guidance of HRBP liaise with group benefit providers and other 3rd party HR service providers.
  • Supports supervisors and the HR Business Partner in the administration of employee disciplinary processes.
  • Serves as secretary for the Employee Committee, preparing and distributing committee minutes and assisting the committee in the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Assists with organizing employee events (retirements, safety accomplishments, summer BBQ’s, etc.) and participates in the Social Committee.
  • Assists with organizing and administering training and development programs as required (ex. Code of Conduct annual refresher training).
  • Assists in the distribution and collection of the employee engagement survey.
  • Assist with weekly payroll audit; complete weekly attendance reports.
  • Provides administrative and coordination support for plant compliance audits.
