About The Position

Microchip Technology is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Houston, TX office. The HRBP should be passionate about building strong relationships, shaping positive employee experiences, and partnering with leaders to help teams do their best work. This is an on-site position and requires working in the office five days per week. In this role, you’ll serve as a strategic thought partner to leaders and a trusted resource for employees across multiple business units—primarily in Texas. You’ll blend business insight with human‑centered HR practices to help drive growth, engagement, and performance in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2+ years of HR Business Partner experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of performance management and compensation practices
  • Experience with U.S. immigration processes
  • Hands‑on experience with HRIS and ATS platforms such as Workday and Workday Recruit
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • A high level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • A customer‑focused mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical HR practices

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience supporting technical or engineering teams, ideally within the semiconductor industry
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with leaders to understand business goals and deliver HR solutions that support both people and performance
  • Act as a strategic partner and work closely with managers and employees to provide guidance, coaching, and HR support across assigned teams
  • Navigate complex and challenging interpersonal situations with professionalism, discretion, and a solutions-oriented approach
  • Support full‑cycle talent needs by helping leaders attract, hire, and retain top technical talent
  • Administer performance management, compensation, and benefits programs that support employee growth and well‑being
  • Guide employees and managers through leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, and benefit related questions with care and clarity
  • Manage employee relations matters, including conducting fair, thorough, and confidential investigations
  • Track, analyze, and share HR metrics to inform decision‑making and improve outcomes
  • Support the rollout and adoption of HR systems, tools, and processes (including Workday)
  • Coordinate immigration‑related processes and employee support
  • Create welcoming, engaging new‑hire orientation experiences that help employees feel connected from day one
  • Support Affirmative Action compliance efforts and participate in community outreach initiatives
  • Own the end‑to‑end onboarding experience, including I‑9 processing and E‑Verify compliance
  • Help plan and deliver benefits open enrollment, wellness initiatives, and employee engagement events
  • Maintain accurate and compliant HR records across personnel files and HRIS systems
  • Run and interpret weekly, monthly, and quarterly HR reports
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as the business evolves
