Novelis is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for our Novelis North America HR team to support assigned business and functional client groups. This role serves as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing strategic and hands-on HR partnership across talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, workforce planning, change management, and engagement. The successful candidate will be highly resourceful, proactive, and business-focused, with the ability to anticipate needs, navigate ambiguity, and independently drive solutions. Success in this role requires building strong relationships and maintaining a visible presence with the teams and leaders supported, developing a deep understanding of their business priorities, workforce challenges, and culture. The HRBP acts as both a coach and consultant, helping leaders make informed people decisions that drive organizational performance and employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering directly with business leaders and influencing decision-making.
  • Strong employee relations, organizational development, and change management experience.
  • Excellent communication, consulting, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach to solving complex business and people challenges.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business strategy into talent actions.
  • The credibility and presence to influence leaders at all levels.
  • A collaborative mindset combined with the courage to challenge thinking and provide thoughtful recommendations.
  • A commitment to building trust through visibility, responsiveness, and consistent partnership with the client groups you support.

Nice To Haves

  • HR Business Partner experience supporting corporate, commercial, manufacturing, or shared services functions.
  • Experience working within a matrixed organization.
  • HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) and/or advanced degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR partner and trusted advisor to leaders and employees within assigned client groups.
  • Partner with leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and employee development.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and change management.
  • Drive talent and performance processes, including talent reviews, organizational planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Support compensation planning, promotions, job evaluations, and other talent-related decisions.
  • Use workforce data and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, recommending solutions that support business objectives.
  • Foster employee engagement and a positive workplace culture through strong relationships and consistent partnership with the business.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Operations, and business leaders to deliver integrated HR solutions.
