About The Position

At Hill International - Americas, we help clients deliver some of the most transformative infrastructure, construction, program management, and capital improvement projects in the world. As our business continues to grow, we are investing in a more strategic, business-focused HR model and are seeking a talented Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support leaders and employees throughout our West Region and California operations. This is an opportunity for an HR professional who wants to move beyond transactional HR and become a true business advisor. You'll partner directly with regional leadership, influence workforce strategy, help drive organizational effectiveness, navigate complex employee relations matters, and play a key role in building a high-performing culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR Business Partner or Employee Relations experience
  • Active U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law and multi-state HR practices
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence leaders at all levels
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, consulting, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams

Nice To Haves

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Experience supporting engineering, construction, consulting, professional services, or project-based organizations
  • Experience with workforce analytics, compensation, talent management, and organizational development
  • Willingness to travel throughout the West Region as business needs require

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders across California and the Western United States.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, employee engagement, and organizational design.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, investigations, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Support and influence business decisions through workforce analytics, HR insights, and practical problem-solving.
  • Lead change management initiatives and support business transformation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with a strong focus on California employment practices.
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence and regional leadership to implement HR programs that improve business outcomes and employee experience.
