About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner plays a key role with both the HR strategy and execution for Peckham’s Phoenix location. This position is available as a Michigan role with occasional travel to Phoenix, Arizona. Responsible for developing relationships with key business leaders, this individual will understand the talent needs and execute the day-to-day functions of Human Resources. The primary focus of this position is to provide outstanding customer service in recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, HR compliance, training, and employee engagement for the 250+ employees based in Phoenix.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of HR Generalist/ Business Partner experience
  • Experience with Benefits, FMLA, Unemployment, and employee relations
  • Excellent Communicator
  • Proactive and self-directed problem solver
  • Must pass a federal security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • The ability to speak fluently in Spanish
  • Experience with Arizona employment law
  • Experience with OFCCP
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and impairments
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS system

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Business Services to understand and address the questions of staff and team members regarding benefits and insurance plans.
  • Connect with new staff and team members during open enrollment by conducting benefit orientations for new staff and team members and during open enrollment.
  • Process insurance starts, changes, and terminations.
  • Administer short- and long-term disability claims.
  • Answer questions related to retirement.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Employee Assistance Program.
  • Support the Safety and Wellbeing Specialist.
  • Support employee relations investigations and complaints process as assigned.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on company policies and Arizona employment practices.
  • Facilitate Interactive Process and manage the ADA process.
  • Administer Leave of Absences including FMLA.
  • Assist in investigations and answer EEOC, CR and other legal or investigative concerns.
  • Process unemployment claims as assigned.
  • Partner with corporate talent acquisition team and business leadership to evaluate open staff positions and actively work to fill positions with qualified candidates.
  • Participate in interviews and help choose candidates for open staff positions.
  • Provide local support for onboarding and integration of new staff.
  • Partner with corporate Employee Engagement Specialist and local business leadership to develop and implement a local action plan to support improved employee engagement program.
  • Provide updates on engagement of Peckham staff to HR team.
  • Assist in Mission Engagement Experiences (MEe).
  • Provide mentorship and coaching.
  • Work effectively and positively with other Peckham teams.
  • Promote Peckham’s vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders and do so in an energetic and engaging manner.
  • Utilize a teamwork approach for all projects.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
