About The Position

POP MART is seeking an experienced Retail HR Business Partner to support its expanding retail operations across the West Coast and select U.S. markets. This role is crucial for providing hands-on HR support to field leadership, covering areas such as employee relations, performance management, talent development, compliance, compensation, engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness. As POP MART grows its U.S. presence, this individual will be instrumental in scaling people practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multi-unit retail environments, excel at building relationships with District and Store Managers, and be adept at coaching leaders through complex HR issues and developing processes in a dynamic setting. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and work experience sufficient for success in the role.
  • 8-10 years of experience in HR/retail Management.
  • At least 5 years in a similar HRBP role within the retail industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of Federal and multi-state employment regulations; knowledge of multiple state regulations is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with customers, management, and staff.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage projects.
  • High learning agility and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, rapidly growing business environment.
  • Enhanced organizational and planning skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information with utmost discretion and professionalism.

  • Knowledge of multiple state regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for the retail population, with a focus on West Coast/Canada, assisting with all HR functions including talent review, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and leadership development training.
  • Oversee and align internal retail operation procedures, including promotion, demotion, transfer, changes in reporting lines, compensation adjustments, position management, and store tier level changes to support daily performance.
  • Provide daily performance management guidance to district and store management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Manage day-to-day HR coaching on policies and procedures, ensuring work environments and practices promote positive employee relations, free from discrimination, harassment, or unfair/unethical practices.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify and fill critical roles while retaining top talent.
  • Offer exceptional HR support for Retail, leveraging core functional knowledge in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits, and development.
  • Stay current on evolving labor laws and regulations, ensure compliance with Federal and State legislation, and provide ongoing HR coaching on policies and procedures.
  • Act as a thought partner and executive advisor to field retail leadership, assessing organizational health of stores to strengthen capabilities, engagement, development, and talent retention.
  • Implement company-wide HR programs, ensuring their relevance to business needs and alignment with store goals, and provide feedback to the HRBP Leader on business requirements.
  • Evaluate and analyze overall store climate using data from employee listening surveys, developing actionable plans and solutions to enhance employee experiences.
