About The Position

Homer Electric Association (HEA) is a member-owned electric utility serving the central and southern areas of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. We are excited to be seeking a Human Resources Associate to join our team at our Homer, Alaska location. This position touches every aspect of Human Resources (HR), including retirement, benefits, reporting, payroll, and training. Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail and extraordinary organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with outside agencies, internal employees and management staff with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Associate's degree with emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; in lieu of the degree requirement, an additional four years of applicable experience may replace the degree requirement.
  • Minimum of three years of human resources or related administrative experience, with demonstrated responsibility for supporting multiple HR functions.
  • Must submit a valid Alaska Driver's license within 90 days of hire date, and maintain a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a shared services or regulated environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research, gather, organize and prepare historical, compliance related and regulatory data as assigned.
  • Coordinate scheduling interviews, in-state or out-of-state travel coordination, training events and meeting arrangements.
  • Maintain a schedule on a computer calendar and take notes at various meetings as assigned.
  • Assist employees with updating employment documents as may be required for the processing of employment file or payroll data changes.
  • Maintain department records and filing systems for both physical and electronic files.
  • May require extended periods of filing and data entry.
  • Prepare professional-level documents and presentations for HR functions and training.
  • Provide primary backup and support for the HR Generalist when absent or as otherwise required for the completion of the department's duties.
  • Provides support to the HR & Administrative Services Manager as requested and acts as secondary backup in the absence of the HR & Administrative Services Manager and the HR Generalist.
