About The Position

This is a key role in the Human Resources department, often supporting a specific shift in a multi-shift operation. This includes administration and monitoring for compliance of all company policies, Federal, state and local regulations in addition to serving as a direct line of contact for associate inquiries at all levels throughout the associate life cycle. Responsibilities include the areas of record/data maintenance, benefit administration, generating and analyzing Workday and Kronos reports, intake and maintaining of FMLA, ADAAA, Workers Comp and Union CBA inquiries and/or accommodation requests.

Requirements

  • Clerical/administrative experience (5 yr. minimum), HR background is a plus.
  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Professionalism, knowledge of computer basics, MS Office (intermediate level), insurance claim process basic conflict resolution and excellent verbal/written communications skills.

  • HR or business administration degree and/or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • First line of contact for associate inquiries, providing resolution or escalating to an HR manager as needed.
  • Resolve issues related to paychecks, disability payments and/or benefit claims.
  • Conduct onboarding for new hires including pre-hire paperwork, E-Verify, orientation and new hire entry into Workday and Kronos.
  • Draft internal communications and/or utilize available communication vehicles to insure required information and division/corporate communications are properly passed on to the appropriate associates in a timely manner.
  • Utilize Workday and Kronos to insure transfers, job changes, wage changes/progressions and people moves are entered and complete.
  • Intake and processing of garnishments, vacation pay/payout requests, Credit Days, attendance incentives/awards, etc.
  • Kronos reporting and analysis insuring accurate recording of absences, tardiness, FMLA and any of the 30+ pay codes are properly captured and recorded.
  • Run absence/tardy reports maintaining disciplinary status information and generating disciplinary notices as needed.
  • Intake and processing of FMLA and ADAAA requests/claims.
  • Coordinate post-accident, random and reasonable suspicion drug testing as directed by Operations or an HR manager.
  • Administer job posting process and assist with job moves/migration as necessary and updating Workday/Kronos as needed.
  • Review non-exempt time cards for accuracy on a daily basis, provide retraining for supervisors as needed.
  • Monitor 30, 60 and 90 day reviews for hourly new hires, following up with supervisors as needed.
  • Process terminations in a timely manner including separation notice, updating Workday and Kronos and provide notification to management.
  • Back-up to the Payroll Clerk.
  • Assist with follow up on OSHA programs and Workers Comp claims.
  • Back-up coverage for receptionist/switchboard.
  • As assigned by manager
