About The Position

The HR Assistant role performs a variety of administrative duties for plant management and the HR department, to ensure efficient plant operations, while maintaining safe work practices.

Requirements

  • a minimum of two years of experience in customer service and administration.
  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office
  • Professional demeanor and presence with the ability to engage with all levels of team members.
  • Honest with the ability to maintain confidentiality and be fiscally responsible.
  • Demonstrate commitment to high personal & professional ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Help manage time and attendance, making sure timecards are reviewed and approved on time, and working with payroll to fix any issues.
  • Support employee training by coordinating LMS access, new hire orientation, and required trainings.
  • Handle workers’ compensation tasks, including paperwork, tracking claims, and helping with return-to-work and modified duty.
  • Coordinate pre-employment steps like physicals, drug screens, and onboarding requirements.
  • Lead new hire onboarding at the site, making sure all paperwork is completed correctly, including I-9s.
  • Assist with benefits administration by helping employees with questions, new hire enrollment, and open enrollment activities.
  • Take part in safety and quality efforts, including meetings, audits, and helping manage PPE orders.
  • Order and maintain office and first aid supplies, including submitting purchase requests.
  • Complete general office duties like filing, handling mail, and basic correspondence.
  • Pitch in to support customer service and dispatch when needed.
  • Learn different parts of the operation through cross-training and continue building skills.
  • Help out with other tasks as needed to keep things running smoothly.
