About The Position

Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking a personable, organized, and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support our Bangor team. In this part-time role, you’ll help create a positive onboarding experience for new hires while supporting the daily operations of our Human Resources department. If you enjoy working with people, staying organized, and being part of a mission-driven team, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, friendly, and customer-service-oriented approach
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with administrative or HR-related work preferred

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist new hires through the onboarding process
  • Coordinate and support new employee orientation sessions
  • Ensure employment paperwork and HR documentation are completed accurately and on time
  • Maintain organized and confidential employee records
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the HR department
  • Assist with communication between applicants, employees, and hiring managers
