About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Human Resources Assistant II for the Las Vegas, NV office to provide clerical, administrative, and technical support to the Human Resources function. Works under general supervision. The selected candidate will provide clerical, administrative, and technical support to the Human Resources function. He/she will report directly to the with functional s HR/LR Manager with functional supervision and strategic guidance provided by the HR Business Partner (HRBP). Duties and responsibilities listed below are not mutually exclusive.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in HR or related field and equivalent training/experience with 3 years of related experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, including labor laws for construction and services.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced skills in the use of general office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and computers.
  • Analytical, negotiating, and organizational skills at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive team atmosphere with effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to work professionally with a variety of people and personalities.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize work assignments/tasks.
  • Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare required reports.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle potentially stressful situations.
  • Good communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word, Workday, ADP Payroll at an advanced level or higher.
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-turnover setting.
  • Previous experience working with union (represented) employees.
  • Ability to manage rapid onboarding/offboarding cycles and high-volume digital communication, including HR support services.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Handles incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Opens, date stamps, and distributes incoming mail.
  • Prepares and sends outgoing mail including benefit change information.
  • Performs typing, word processing, spreadsheet, and database work.
  • Maintains correspondence, forms, listings, files, reports, and automated personnel records and information.
  • Reconciles data in the automated Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and other sources of employee information.
  • Maintains data integrity and ensures accurate and consistent data entry.
  • Verifies HRIS data entered against source documents.
  • Prepares and processes a complete range of personnel actions including hires (i.e., regular full-time, temporary, and part-time employees), rehires, terminations, transfers, pay changes, status changes, etc.
  • Ensures and maintains compliance of I-9s, W-4s, contracts, etc.
  • Partners with recruitment/talent acquisition to ensure pre-boarding process goes smoothly.
  • Partners and collaborates with Payroll to ensure timely submittals of required documents and employment changes
  • Prepares and processes new hire, onboarding, paperwork, and coordinates logistics to conduct new hire orientation sessions.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for new employee inquiries.
  • Assists with payroll and benefit deductions, allocations, reconciliations, audits, and payment approvals and collections.
  • Provides and obtains employee information to facilitate and support the daily administrative, operational, and legal functions of the HR department.
  • Assists in the compilation and preparation of forms, reports, and projects.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
