About The Position

The Human Resource Specialist position at Home of Hope serves as the employee onboarding, company benefits, and training coordinator for the employee group. This role assists in the administration of various employee benefit plans, including life, health, dental, and disability insurances, and 403B plans. The specialist also administers, organizes, schedules, and tracks company training programs for supervisory, technical, and support staff, ensuring technical training complies with DDS and Title XIX guidelines. The position emphasizes client-centered care, accountability, respect, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in business, non-profit management, communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license with a good driving history.

  • Experience in nonprofit and/or human service field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all welcoming activities for new employees, including orientations, lunches, and check-ins.
  • Participate in the planning and review of policies, procedures, and incentives related to the first three months of employment to enhance retention.
  • Assist new employees with benefit plan enrollment and the Open Enrollment process.
  • Process benefit enrollment changes for employees due to qualifying events, terminations, and other plan changes.
  • Assist in preparing materials and presenting benefits information to employees.
  • Maintain employee benefit data and other record-keeping.
  • Review and approve monthly insurance invoices for payment processing.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of employee contributions and communicate with Payroll and Finance regarding discrepancies.
  • Research, plan, organize, and schedule training programs, seminars, and conferences for new hire, staff, and management employees.
  • Assist with preparing and administering various training programs, coordinating with internal and external trainers.
  • Administer and evaluate training program qualification tests and determine eligibility of prospective attendees, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute training aids, set up technical equipment, and make presentations as needed.
  • Schedule appropriate classrooms and prepare the physical setup, including providing sign-in sheets for classes.
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system for training to ensure compliance with agency requirements.
  • Communicate training information to supervisors as necessary.
  • Maintain and update all training files.
