Human Resource Lead

Nestvillage LLCSun City, AZ
$45,000 - $54,080Hybrid

About The Position

Nestvillage LLC is a growing care services organization based in Sun City, Arizona, dedicated to supporting the individuals and families we serve with compassion, professionalism, and dignity. Our team is the heart of what we do — and the people who join us aren't just employees, they're part of how we deliver on our mission every day. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced HR Lead to help us build a strong, well-supported team and a workplace where great people want to stay. The HR Lead at Nestvillage is a hands-on leadership role that blends people management with full-cycle HR execution. You'll mentor and oversee a team of two Recruiters while personally owning the operational heart of HR — employee scheduling, internal communications, the employee handbook, onboarding logistics, and being the trusted first point of contact for employee questions. This is a hybrid role in the truest sense: senior enough to coach a team, shape policy, and represent HR at the leadership table, but close enough to the work to know every employee by name. It's built for someone who finds energy in both developing others and getting things done themselves. If you're someone who thrives when you can lead, build, and stay close to the people you serve, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead, supervisory, or team management capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring direct reports.
  • Strong working knowledge of full-cycle HR: recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and offboarding.
  • Solid understanding of federal and Arizona employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, Title VII, OSHA, AZ wage and hour laws).
  • Experience maintaining or developing an employee handbook and HR policies.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (BambooHR experience strongly preferred), applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office / Google Workspace, and digital recordkeeping.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Coaches and develops others naturally — you make your team better, not just busier.
  • Communicates clearly and warmly with employees at every level, from frontline caregivers to executives.
  • Builds trust quickly and is the person people feel comfortable bringing problems to.
  • Handles difficult conversations with calm professionalism and emotional intelligence.
  • Models the values you want to see in the workplace.
  • Detail-oriented to a fault — you catch the things others overlook.
  • Excellent at juggling multiple priorities without dropping balls.
  • Process-minded: you see workflows and look for ways to make them better.
  • Strong written communication — your policies, emails, and handbook updates are clear and well-crafted.
  • Comfortable with HR technology and quick to learn new systems.
  • Treats confidentiality as a core professional value.
  • Brings a learner's mindset — employment law and HR best practices evolve, and you keep up.
  • Stays composed under pressure and helps the team do the same.
  • Genuinely cares about people and the work experience they have every day.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience in home care, healthcare, senior services, or another high-volume, high-turnover hiring environment.
  • Familiarity with Arizona-specific direct care worker compliance: Fingerprint Clearance Cards, AHCCCS/ALTCS provider requirements, caregiver certifications.
  • Experience supporting a remote or distributed workforce, including offshore team members.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems such as BambooHR ATS, Apploi/RingCentral or similar.
  • Experience implementing or improving HR processes during a period of company growth.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor 2 direct-report Recruiters, providing daily guidance, regular 1:1s, and ongoing professional development.
  • Oversee the team's day-to-day recruiting activities including job postings, sourcing, candidate screening, interview coordination, and pipeline reporting.
  • Set clear performance expectations and KPIs (time-to-fill, response time, candidate quality, conversion rates) and hold the team accountable to them.
  • Coach recruiters on candidate communication, interview techniques, and sourcing strategy — especially for high-volume direct care hiring.
  • Review and approve recruiting plans, sourcing channels, and outreach standards.
  • Step in directly on complex, senior-level, or hard-to-fill searches when needed.
  • Build a high-performing, collaborative team culture where recruiters feel supported, challenged, and developed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions about policies, pay, benefits, time off, and general HR matters.
  • Draft and send internal HR communications — policy updates, announcements, reminders, and culture-building messages.
  • Handle every employee interaction with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
  • Own the employee handbook end-to-end: maintain, update, and continuously improve it to reflect current policies, Arizona and federal legal requirements, and Nestvillage's culture.
  • Communicate handbook changes clearly to staff and ensure proper acknowledgment.
  • Partner with leadership and legal counsel as needed to keep policies compliant and aligned with company values.
  • Support employee scheduling in partnership with operations and care managers.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling for candidates, hiring managers, and panel interviewers — including across time zones when working with remote recruiting team members.
  • Manage onboarding logistics: new hire paperwork, first-day setup, orientation, and 30/60/90-day check-ins.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HRIS data integrity (BambooHR).
  • Support compliance with federal and Arizona employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, AZ Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act, AZ Civil Rights Act).
  • Coordinate background checks, I-9 verification, E-Verify, Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Cards, TB tests, CPR/First Aid certifications, and other industry-specific credentialing for direct care staff.
  • Support payroll coordination through timely employee data updates.
  • Track and report on key HR metrics: headcount, turnover, time-to-fill, and engagement indicators.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline HR workflows, improve the employee experience, and scale processes as Nestvillage grows.
  • Document HR procedures and build playbooks the team can rely on.
