As a full-time Human Resource Intern in the People and Culture Department at Aalberts, you will support the manufacturing facility in Conway, SC, working closely with the HR Manager and collaborating with all managers to implement all aspects of HR programs. the Aalberts way Aalberts is built on entrepreneurship. For yourself, for the company, and for our planet. your challenge Assist in various human resource plans and procedures for company personnel. Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Assist in the performance evaluation program for the non-exempt team in Conway, SC. Assist in benefits administration function, which will include claims resolution, change reporting, verification of invoices for payment and employee communication. Backup, if needed, for maintaining affirmative action program and coordinating the filing associated with the program. Conduct new hire orientations as needed. Handle employee relations counselling, outplacement counselling and exit interviews. Responds to employee relation issues included but not limited to, employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints. Represents the company for unemployment claims when HR Manager is unavailable. Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs. Assists in continual improvement efforts of the department. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Complete any additional duties as assigned by the manager. Report Monday – Friday, onsite, 8am – 5pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 0-2 years of experience in human resources, or related experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex information in an approachable manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive relationships.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (especially Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, safety, training and development.
  • Detail oriented ability to multi-task, and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Professionalism and the ability to translate company mission and culture into staff centered activities and services.
  • Integrity by working with passion, commitment, honesty, and acting in the best interests of the company and staff.
