About The Position

Toth and Associates is a growing engineering consulting firm providing specialized services across multiple disciplines including civil, electrical, structural, transmission, substation, and planning. Our team is built on technical excellence, collaboration, and long-term client and employee relationships. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a high-performing Human Resources Generalist with strong talent acquisition capability for an on-site position located in Springfield, MO. Position Summary The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a key contributor to the HR function, balancing strategic recruiting efforts with hands-on operational HR responsibilities. This individual will play a critical role in attracting and retaining engineering talent while supporting employee relations, payroll administration, onboarding, leave management, and employee engagement initiatives. This role requires someone who is proactive, organized, relationship-driven, and comfortable working directly with technical professionals and firm leadership. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Lead full-cycle recruiting for engineering and professional staff positions Develop creative sourcing strategies to attract high-caliber engineering talent Partner with department leaders to understand workforce needs and hiring priorities Conduct screening interviews and coordinate hiring manager interviews Manage offer process and candidate experience Build and maintain a strong pipeline of passive candidates Represent the firm at career fairs, networking events, and industry functions Employee Relations Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers Support performance management processes Assist in educating and resolving policy questions Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Payroll & HR Administration Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity Assist with compensation tracking and reporting Support benefits administration as needed Workers’ Compensation & Leave Management Manage workers’ compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work efforts Administer FMLA and other leave programs Partner with insurance carriers and third-party administrators Ensure compliance and accuracy of documentation New Hire Onboarding & Employee Experience Coordinate onboarding process from offer acceptance through first 90 days Facilitate orientation sessions Ensure a strong new hire integration experience Assist with employee engagement initiatives and firm-sponsored events Help coordinate employee appreciation programs and internal events Why This Role Matters This position is critical to our continued growth. Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Demonstrated success in talent acquisition (preferably in technical or engineering roles)
  • Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience processing payroll or working closely with payroll systems
  • Experience with FMLA/LOA administration
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
