Human Resource Generalist

About The Position

This role is responsible for a wide range of human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, and compliance. The Generalist will act as a safety leader, drive continuous improvement, analyze workforce data, and support employees through various HR processes. A customer service-oriented approach and adherence to company values are essential.

Requirements

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
  • Works in conjunction with the Safety Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
  • Complies with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding company performance metrics for driving continuous improvement and making well-informed decisions for manufacturing activities, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, ensuring all necessary materials (e.g., questions, evaluations) are prepared in advance.
  • Lead recruitment activities, including reviewing applications, arranging interviews, and conducting orientations for new employees.
  • Participate in interviews, providing feedback and collaborating with hiring managers to select the best candidates.
  • Maintain regular communication with applicants, candidates, and employees through verbal and written correspondence.
  • Analyze workforce data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Connect analysis to business outcomes and work closely with leadership to effectively communicate insights, recommendations, and actionable plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR team members to finalize job offers, including salary, benefits, and start dates.
  • Manage pre-employment screenings such as background checks, drug tests, and physicals.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations and assist with benefits enrollment processes.
  • Support employees with leave management, including FMLA, disability, and workers’ compensation.
  • Organize and participate in company events, such as town halls, employee recognition, and holiday/cultural celebrations.
  • Handle offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews and coordinating employee separations.
  • Administer company benefits plans, including health, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), FSA, HSA, and life insurance.
  • Lead open enrollment processes and provide management with guidance on benefit offerings during renewal periods.
  • Update and maintain accurate job descriptions.
  • Maintain a customer service-oriented approach aligned with the company’s core values.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as insurance regulations, by maintaining HR records and generating necessary reports.
  • Serve as a backup to other HR colleagues when needed and provide support across the team.
  • Perform administrative tasks and other related duties as assigned.
  • Administer payroll and ensure accuracy of time and attendance.
