About The Position

The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking a Human Research Technologist. This position will work on a Federally funded longitudinal study on pediatric obesity prevention and will oversee protocol development, participant recruitment, and day-to-day execution of the study. This position is funded for 1 year(s); continuation past 1 year(s) will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

Requirements

Experience with conducting human research studies in the field of nutrition or a related field.
Experience working with children and families.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Associate Degree
No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.
PA State Police Criminal Background Check
PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Develop standard operating procedures for a Federally funded longitudinal study in children
Establish data collection forms, surveys, and protocol instructions in Redcap for delivery
Work as part of an inter-disciplinary team with full-time staff members, faculty, and graduate students to implement a pipeline for participant recruitment, data collection, and data processing
Assign data processing and laboratory testing procedures to undergraduate research assistants
Assist with ongoing and planned recruitment activities and identify new recruitment opportunities in the community and network with community stakeholders to disseminate information about ongoing studies
Deliver training to research assistants to ensure successful adherence to study protocol
Coordinate with other research staff to complete purchases for study materials and foods and rectify expenses in a timely fashion
