About The Position

Dr. Ansell’s laboratory in the Department of Biobehavioral Health is seeking candidates for full-time research technologist positions working on NIH-funded projects. Research in the lab focuses on understanding mechanisms underlying vulnerability for substance use and risk behaviors. This position is funded for 12 months; continuation past 12 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • Work well in a team
  • Able to work carefully, responsibly, proactively and with great attention to detail
  • Experience working with human participants in a clinical or research laboratory context is necessary
  • Associate Degree
  • No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating lab activities
  • Recruitment of participants to meet study goals
  • Managing assessment schedules
  • Completing clinical assessments with participants
  • Managing databases and necessary safety and institutional review board protocols
  • Preliminary data cleaning and management
  • Implementing neuroimaging protocols
  • Developing and maintaining REDCap databases
  • Implementing and monitoring smartphone-based assessments
  • Retaining participants in a longitudinal study
  • Cognitive testing
