About The Position

A Human Geographer (HG) applies an understanding of geography, research, GIS, data conflation, and management skills to produce a broad array of human geography products including attributed data, maps, and written reports. Production phases for HG projects and products may include research, discovery, evaluation, extraction, creation, geo-enabling, quality control/review, metadata attribution, source citation, service enabling and dissemination.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application
  • Willingness to complete a CI poly upon request
  • High School diploma and 5-10 years of specialized professional work experience in human geography data research and collection, compiling and organizing statistical data into tables compatible with ArcGIS, participating in quality control checks, geospatial analysis, and/or international regional/functional expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 2-7 years of specialized professional work experience in human geography data research and collection, compiling and organizing statistical data into tables compatible with ArcGIS, participating in quality control checks, geospatial analysis, and/or international regional/functional expertise.
  • Master's degree in relevant field and one year of specialized professional work experience in human geography data research and collection, compiling and organizing statistical data into tables compatible with ArcGIS, participating in quality control checks, geospatial analysis, and/or international regional/functional expertise.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software applications such as ESRI products (ArcPro, ArcMap), SOCET GXP, QGIS, Remoteview, or similar electronic light table applications, GRiD, DVOF, IGW, GAIT etc.
  • Previous GEOINT production experience preferred.
  • Experience using feature layers (shapefiles), raster data (imagery/DEM), geodatabases (GDB, FDB), cartographic products, and safe data handling and storage procedures.
  • Ability to produce GEOINT products to NGA standards and quality.

  • NGA College courses and certifications.
  • Completed relevant Formal/Advanced Military Training (Tech School, Advanced Individual Training, A School, or other MOS/AFSC/Rate granting equivalent).
  • Current GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations (GPC-F).
  • Experience with Python scripting.

Responsibilities

  • Produce GEOINT products to NGA standards and quality.
